Hi All,
I am lurker on the list and and intending to build given time (I am
currently an engineering/science student). I also believe strongly in facts
as backup to statements. As a matter of interrest Honda are using
anti-friction coatings on some of their production engines. One engine in
particular runs a cast aluminium piston on a bare aluminium bore with no
ceramic or chromium based bore lining. The engine to which I am most
familiar with is a motorcyle power plant for the CBR 919 RR Fireblade.
This machine has a specific out put in excess of 100bhp/ litre of engine
displacement. It has so far in my limited experience had no major engine
failures due to this construction.
Just something to consider
