 the front seat of my extra 300l had a removable stick.  sold mine so don't
have any pictures but it had a hole on the removable part where a prong on a
metal flange from the permanent part would fit into to hold it in place.  also
robinson helicopter collectives are removable by a similar system.
 additionally breakdown kayak paddles are designed in a similar manner.
