Ian,

Does the Blue Mountain system use the Crossbox 425 AHARS?  That is the one dropped by Chelton because of erratic failures in the field.  However I heard that pilots currently using the certificated Chelton with the Crossbow 500 are selling their AHARS and buying the new Pinpoint GADAHARS because of a few new features.  You might be able to pick up a used and perfectly functional 500 for about $3000 - quite a deal!

Subject: [LML] Blue Mountain Avionics

Can anyone on the list shed any light on their experiences with Blue Mountain, in particular with the delivery and level of satisfaction with their Generation 4 EFIS?

I would like to give my plane a glass cockpit but from reading the Blue Mountain mesage board I do not sense a high level of satisfaction with delivery promises and the actual hardware/software once received.  This may well be teething troubles but I would prefer not to be the guinea pig.

I know that I have alternatives but I would like to go Blue Mountain, everything else being equal.

If you prefer to express your opinion off list my E mail is ian.crowe@sympatico.ca   I would be most grateful for any comments people might have.

Ian Crowe.
