But the problem that I have is WHY THE NON STANDARD PRESSURIZATION INSTALLATION??? I just don't seem to get it.... I guess. I have done some homework, and searching,,, and a King Air uses a flowpac,, Malibu much the same, Mirage,, much the same, PC12,, same... seems that everyone I speak to,, uses a flow pac.. Seems that the Walter using a compressor takeoff is very NON STANDARD.. but why.. One Pratt rep said that the takeoff at compressor was not used because it was a high freq area that would eventually cause cracks.. not sure if that is right. Joe B says that the D will pressurize but it will cost more and air will be hot .. but seems that the EXE needs 2 intercoolers and the flowpac needs one.. hmmm. ... I just don't seem to get it. So many different stories, and I just don't know where to go for a clear answer... seems everyone has a different angle. One thing I believe is the the Lancair installation is really different than anything else out there. Make me wonder if Walter did much testing on compressor takeoff. Will it last 1000 hours,,,??? or 2000?? does anyone know? I do know that the square exhaust on the Walter is because Pratt had a design patent on the round exhaust and it caused them plenty of problems to make it square,, hense the doubler on the burner can to get rid of the cracking problem.. So, it makes me wonder about why they would even condsider the compressor takeoff. Can't really ask Diemech,, ( they have parts to sell so it would be unfair), but so does Lancair.. This is so frustrating. I still feel that Lancair misrepresented what Diemeck is offering. Clearly the insurance issue is a problem. Lancair only supports the E that they sell. So I will not be able to get liability insurance. Great. You need that if you are going to fly in California.. So now I have invested half a millon dollars in a plane that I can't fly to one of the largest states in the USA. There are a few people that contacted me and told me that they did indeed have insurance with a Diemeck engine but suddenly they are unable to get it now because of Lancair not supporting it. Great,, if I buy one of those,, I will have people looking at my plane and saying.... Ah,, you have a plane that can't go to CA.. Makes me wonder if Lancair trashed it with the insurance company the same way they trashed the Diemeck when I called......... If I spend the extra bucks and buy a Walter Exe,, I will have a pressurization system that I am not really comfortable with and quite frankly, I don't believe that Walter did their homework on it...... Just because the manufacturer says so,, doesn't mean it is so in my book. On the other hand,, the Diemecks don't seem to be flying apart like I was warned that they would. (That warning came to me more than once I might add).. Cooke used to be more than happy to take my calls and answer any questions that I might ask him over and over again. His suggestions as to how I complete the plane seem to be logical.. I never expected such turmoil when I decided to build a plane. Support the owner,, fine,,, hope they survive,, great,,,, believe them unconditionally,,, not for me... Joe is a lawyer,, lawyers normally sue people to make a living... sue me if you like,, take your best shot,, I just have an opinion about this plane and the turmoil makes me really uncomfortable... --------------------------------- Yahoo!
