Can anyone tell me when the fly-in in Oregon is going to = be?

Since I have been to every Redmond fly-in since Lancair has been in = Redmond from the early '90's, I can help out here with some general = info.  Lancair can correct me and fill in with some details as = Kimbra has=20 already done.

The Redmond Fly-in this year will be the same dates as it always = has=20 been;

September 2 (Saturday) and September 3 (Sunday).  The BBQ = is=20 Saturday afternoon/evening.  The race is Sunday morning.

There will be multiple activities during the day on Saturday.  = Contact=20 Lancair for details.  There is usually also a Friday night BBQ put = on by=20 one of Lancairs adjacent vendors (Mountain High).

About 50% of the Lancairs that fly-in, arrive throughout the day on = Friday,=20 with the balance arriving Saturday morning.

Similar to past years, if arriving by air on Friday, before about 4 = or 5=20 PM, the Redmond tower will instruct the pilots to taxi and park = (temporarily) at=20 Butler Aviation across the airport from Lancair (shuttles will be = provided back=20 and forth to/from Lancair)  This is as a result of a summer school = still=20 in session adjacent to Lancair.  They (the school), in past = years, has=20 gotten very upset (Lancair's phone starts ringing) with taxing = aircraft=20 nearby.  So, planes will be held at Butler until the school is = closed in=20 the late afternoon on Friday, before allowing taxi parking at = Lancair.

Now my opinion about Friday flying in.  Since I have always = arrived=20 early on Friday to watch arrivals throughout the day, it takes a lot of=20 the enjoyment out of the gathering on Friday.  Although = it sucks,=20 I still fly in on Friday in order to get together with pilot friends and = chat during the day until it is time for the late afternoon mass=20 taxi.  We eat Friday lunch at the restaurant in the Redmond = terminal=20 building.

One last thing.  When taxing in either day, please shut down = well=20 before your parking space.  The rest of us do not want your dust = and=20 dirt.  And Jim C. gets the same parking space as last year with his = Legacy.  It is marked "student" (see last years pictures).  I = will=20 have my usual parking space.  It has my name on it (not = really).
