Dear Mr. Davis,

Thank you for your Message concerning our Flap-Control-box!

You are right! The box-electronic itself works with 24V! And the relaiys
does it too! BUT!! :-)

You're also right, that they won't be alive as long as they should...!

In the last years we had more customers with 24V-systems and I tested the
system here in Switzerland on a "cirrus" airvraft, with 24V system and
stronger Flap-motors.. :-(
=> We changed the relays to newer (better) ones AND 24V-types (in 24V
systems)!

So, if you have a "Bosch"-reseller in your vicinity, you may buy and change
the relays yourself, or if you prefer, I may send you this from
Switzerland!?

Perhaps you know Mr. Mark Mahnke from Oregon (an experienced Lancair-builder
and user/installer of our Control-boxes)? He just ordered three systems
(24V!). Perhaps it's less expensive for you, if I send him your 24V relays
and he send them to you!?

Also the schematics to wire the box AND the sensor: You should have received
it with the box!? But it is still available and I'll attach the whole user
manual to that email..

For explanation:
The wire-color-markings for the sensor, shown in the schematics, are the
following:

Rt (rot): red
Br (braun): brown
Or (orange): orange

Please let me know, what do you prefer concerning the relays...

Hope this information will help you, else let me know, please!

Best regards

Betreff: FCTRL0002 Questions

Dear Mr. Missaggia:

Several years ago I purchased one of your FCTRL0002 Flap Control units and am unfortunately only now am about to install it in my Lancair Legacy 2000 (I'm a very slow builder).  As I mentioned at the time of purchase, my Legacy has a 24 VDC electrical system and I am still a bit concerned that your 12 VDC system will work with long term reliability with twice that voltage applied to it and to the flap motor.  You have previously indicated that there should be no problem but, before I go to the effort to wire and install it I would like to have you confirm that for me once again.  I am not particularly knowledgeable about the circuits in the system but suspect that the electronics may well handle the higher voltage without difficulty.  My concern is that possible failure of the relays at the higher voltage would prevent effective reversion to the manual mode of the system and this would be unacceptable.   I would very much appreciate your frank appraisal of the reliability and longevity of your system at the higher voltage.

At the time of purchase, I also purchased your flap position sensor and have now had a chance to carefully compare it and the one provide by Lancair with the SKF flap motor.  Your sensor appears to be very well made and I would like very much to us it but, since it came with no installation instructions or wiring diagram, I am uncertain about how to go about this.  I would greatly appeciate your help in getting such instructions/diagrams to avoid having to use the Lancair provided system instead.  Any other information you can provide to someone as electronically challenged as I am to help with installation of your system will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Mark Davis
