In our old Thorp T-18, I had the same problem and I covered the the glare shield with a black velour/felt (like the tourist paintings from Tijuana are painted on.) It was very matt black and worked very well. For some reason I just haven't noticed the problem in our Lancair 360. I did replace the vinyl cover with black matt leather out of concern for crazing the Plexiglas from fumes from the vinyl. I also figured it might handle the heat of a focused sun better than the vinyl if that should happen again (sun behind the open canopy melted a couple of holes in the vinyl.)

Greetings All,
Does anyone have any suggestions how to reduce the glare from the dust cover in the windshield? I have covered the dust cover with a fabric. Some kind of tinting in the plexiglass? Any suggestions are appreciated.
