How's this for a statistic, unvarified by me of course, but others might chime in who are in the Union.

I was in for my Class III physical today and met another guy there for his Class I.  I guess we're sort of neighbors - neighboring towns East of Sacramento.  He works for a major and I asked him if he owned an airplane, the answere was no.  He then showed his feelings by saying he would never fly in a general aviation aircraft.  With that in mind as background he then went on  to say that his company looses about three pilots a year to general aviation accidents.  If this figure is at least close, I wonder how passenger hours or even flight hours has any bearing on aircraft accidents. I have an opinion as to probable cause, but will keep it safely to myself.
