The 15:1 factor is for hours.    The flying hours to get to a given destination are probably on average about double for the kind of GA plane I fly.   So I think that makes it 30:1 for a given trip.
 
I wonder what the number is for 2000+ hour IFR pilots that fly 200+ hours/year and go back to sim school at least once a year.  (Some would argue the latter is not necessary but it probably eliminates some of the more arrogant population)
