The person killed himself because of his attitude; choosing to ignore his and his airplane's limitations. Blaming the airplane is just lame. Every airplane, every automobile, every product can be made safer. The safest thing to do is to not fly, not drive, not walk, not even get out of bed. > I think pilots are good enough already. On which planet? On this planet pilots routinely run out of gas, routinely fly into thunderstorms, fly into unyielding objects like mountains and ground..... You must have some really low standards if you find that kind of piloting "good enough" > I think BFRs are completely unnecessary and it has been proven so > in a > study, and the cost deters new and licensed pilots from continuing to > fly. Can you cite the study? This is the first I have ever heard of this. If you do your BFR by taking a local flight instructor up for a ride to wow him in your Lancair and call that a BFR, then it was a useless exercise. It may or may not meet the letter of the regulation, but it certainly did not meet the spirit of the regulation. > I think medicals are unnecessary because they aren't requjired for > driving > a car. Should a pilot's license be abolished because no license is "requjired" for a pedal bike? I am just wondering if this was actually a serious post or if someone broke into your account and posted this? Hamid
