Tefzel wire is not Teflon. Teflon cuts easily and will cold flow, exposing
conductors after installation. Teflon is not approved for aviation service.

Tefzel wire, Mil 22759, is the only wire to use. It is available in 9 colors and
is only 7 cents a foot for 22 gage. PVC hookup wire is 6 cents per foot in 22
gage. Tefzel weighs the same as PVC for the same gage. Tefzel is stiffer then PVC
only because the Tefzel has a higher tensile strength and higher modulus.

What bothers me about PVC isn't the flammability but the melting point. PVC is
liquid long before Tefzel gives up. Instrument panels get HOT. The thought of a
cabin fire scares the crap out of me.

Tefzel wire, along with LOTS of other goodies, is available from EDMO 800 235
8800. EDMO only sells wholesale to other businesses. If you call them as Joe
Homebuilder you will be waved off. Be sure to use your business persona so you can
set up an account and get the wholesale prices. Nod nod wink wink...say no more.

Brent Regan
