Posted for "John Barrett" <2thman@olympus.net> to eliminate Vcard:
I have just received from Dexter Hysol two samples of adhesives. I am
experimenting with faster setting bonding agents for the BG Enterprises,
Inc. Carbinge and Glassinge piano hinges. We need to be able to bond them
to composites and to aluminum.
So far I've learned that the 9000 series products are built to aerospace
specs - they have tighter controls and higher price tags. they also seem
to come in larger quantities.
The 4000 series adhesives are more generic in application - have greater
variety in application techniques and cost less. They have many similar
properties to H 9339 and other 9000 series products. It seems to me that
for non structural bonds some of these might be a good alternative to
epoxy/flox or the 9339. Some of them set relatively quickly and have
tremendous peel strength.
Sounds good to me.

John Barrett
