I did have an experienced bodywork/paint guy (also an A&P) stop by this evening and "inspect" the work I've been doing on the bottom. He said he thought it was much better than necessary to give to the painter - good to hear that perhaps I'm on the right path, as I been doing body work and primer on the fairings and bottom since SNF (4 weeks). Thus, one final coat, flip right-side up, and back to the fun stuff.
