Mark Kirchner showed me a 5/8 in. bolt about 6 inches long with a point ground on the end to go through the windows that was recommended to him by test pilot friends.  Others advocate a moutaineer's ice ax (pointy on one end, blade on other, light, compact multiple uses) which is what I plan to use.
