I could not get too much from the Continental site. The little I know sounds great in theory, is it that great? << I am sort of a competitor (not enough that they or anyone else would notice) and not too intimate with the system, so you can take my comments for what they're worth.. The system does work, of course, since it is certified. The redundancy is probably adequate - at least the FAA thinks so. I am skeptical of the capability of the injectors in terms of durability and accuracy, but maybe they did in a couple of years what we in the auto business took 10 years to do. Remember, durability, or even reliability, is not an issue that the FAA spends much time with. They worry more about safety (redundancy). I think the system is just expensive. Compared to the standard Continental system, which in my opinion is deficient to start with, their FADEC is a giant step forward. The more appropriate comparison in my opinion is to the Precision Airmotive RSA system, which is probably as good as a purely mechanical system can get at the moment. The FADEC will probably not outperform that except at high altitude low load. Operationally, the FADEC idea is a good one - single power lever, key start at any temperature, etc. Gary Casey ES project >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://members.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please remember that purchases from the Builders' Bookstore assist with the management of the LML.
