I agree John. Besides, each time I update the GPS data on the two data cards I have the date is changed and appears when the aviaonics are turned on.. It is very clear when the data is not current.

I don't make a log entry when I update my GPS. I don't make a log entry when I fill up with gas either. I don't know if AOPA is right or wrong about what the rules say but some rules are just too ridiculous to be followed.
