I attribute this to two factors. The first was the pot life of the standard epoxy (I only used Hysol on the leading and trailing edges on both wings) and the inadequate supply of mixed epoxy. I solved both problems on the second wing and it closed out without a hitch. I helped Leighton Mangles close a pair of IVP wings recently and he used the same method I used on the second wing. Instead of regurgitating it all here, you can simply go to my web site (http://www.teleport.com/~peweston) and review the method used there. The key points are to use a slower curing hardener (Hysol is OK but way too spendy) and prepare the epoxy for mixing the day before and cool it down. I help a Glasair builder (please don't spread that around) with his wings a few weeks ago and the technique he used to weigh down the wing skin over the spar was quite neat, He laid a strip of expanded polystyrene foam about an inch thick down the length of the spar, on top of that he laid a 5X1 board and then placed concrete breeze block on top of that. Worked really well. The foam conformed to the chord wise curve and thus spread the weight evenly over the spar. Keep on sanding. "Only three short years to go!"
