Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="------------040805050602020509020002" This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------040805050602020509020002 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I am about 3 to 4 months from flying my ES-P and just checked with my insurance broker for updated price and availability. The response was that although the insurance costs have not risen, the availability has been dramatically reduced due to new requirements that Lancair orchestrated with AIG. New builders now will be required to have a factory authorized test pilot, factory authorized training, and a factory authorized inspection prior to the first flight. The problem seems to be that these pilots and inspectors are few and far between. I am sure that since the final inspection is a requirement setup by Lancair, that it would be included in the price of our kits - right? (LOL) The insurance underwriter said that he has been stone-walled when trying to get information from Lancair corporate offices, but that might be due in part to Emily's untimely departure. I sent 3 e-mails to Lancair but received no answers: does anyone have a list of the approved test pilots and approved inspectors?
