One of the most satisfying, amazing, rewarding days of my life, 47 years now, was the day my Lancair first flew. My years as a pilot have been a very positive experience. I recall the first time I heard of a fatal crash of someone that I knew, shook me up pretty good. I will say, that you never get used to it, but you learn from other's mistakes, and keep flying, albeit, with a healthy respect for what we do.
