In the spirit of helpfulness we might consider the terrifying fear this experience conveyed to his soulmate. Some thought about how to cope with and understand how Don might return to flying and know how this could never happen again ... would help, I'm sure. Mine goes with me, and we have discussed problems openly, and come to solutions which must be acceptable to us both. In this case perhaps some modifications of the fuel system which would forever preclude recurrance, by avoiding the possibility of poilt mismanagement, might help. A simpler or automatic system I think give Cessnas a safety advantage over Piper etc., with an on-off syhstem that doesn't require 'fuel management', except as to quantity. Any other ideas? Terrence
