Adamson" : I as well, recently went thru this contemplation... While throwing money at anything may improve it's overall set of features, it doesn't improve the level of integration. It really came down to three things for me. A) Resolution... The GRT is 400x240, the Chelton is 640x480. Also color depth. I don't know what specifically the two are, but there is no comparison between the images and processing speed. The Chelton uses a Pentium at 650mhz, I have no idea what they GRT uses, but it doesn't have the mips to keep up with all that the chelton can do. B) Integration. The GRT has only EFIS currently with some minimal navigation and waypoint information. Weather is suppose to be out soon. Terrain and or 3D *may* be coming, but I think the MIPS issue is gonna cause it to be pretty minimal. Also, the resolution is going to significantly hamper the GRT EFIS. Even seen the weather on it... It's aint pretty C) lastly it came down to confidence. I continue to read of GRT's that reboot themselves inflight or that go "dark" or blank, requiring a CB pull to reset..... NO WAY, not for me, if my butts gonna be hanging out in the breeze, I want an integrated system that is "hardened" and "proven". Your Milage may vary, My .02, Alan
