I don't think there's really any magic here.
If you had a 900hp piston and you actually used all 900hp at sea level your fuel
consumption would be huge. They only "come into their own"
because they run at a small fraction of max power at cruise.
On BSFC, if you had a piston with 4.5
compression ratio, the BSFC would be horrible too.
I'm glad INNODYNE showed up but 4.5:1 compression
ratio IMO just isn't interesting. Let's hope they stay solvent
enough to go to the next level.
