In the 2005 Air Venture Cup Race (47 Experimentals, 470 SM):

 

Lynn Farnsworth (#44) took the Unlimited Class in a Legacy at 277 MPH.

 

Lee Behel & son (#5) won the Sport Class in a Legacy at 282 MPH.

 

In the Formula RG Class -

 

Mark Ravinski & daughter (#77) - 2nd Place in a 360 at 239 MPH.

 

Larry Henney & son (#35) - 3rd Place in a 360 at 234 MPH, nosing out Arnie Christen (#96, 360) at 233 MPH by 28 seconds.

 

Scott Krueger (#94) in his 320 at 229 MPH outpaced a 360 powered Berkut .

 

Note: Most winning Lancairs carried children as ballast/co-pilots/obstruction-spotters - Next year I would like to rent a small child for the duration of the race.
