"Can someone tell me if a TSIO 55C engine can be used in the LIV?"

Short answer is yes.  The 550C is rated @ 310 HP - the 550E is rated @ 350. The 550C can be modified to deliver 350 HP by making some small changes. The engines are dimensionally the same.
