I closed my wings at the factory and we did everything "according to the book." When the skin was placed apparently it moved slightly and now the "squeeze bead" is not right at the edge of the rib cap, leaving a strip of thin Hysol exposed. I found this by shining a light into the tank and noticing that I could "see" through the wing along the edge of the ribs. I assume this thin layer of Hysol is an adequate fuel seal, correct? The reply from Lancair is that yes, and it could be actually used as the tank sealant, but the gray stuff is just better.
