Generally, there is no "action" at the mid wing tip loc (at least on a
320), thus my strobe is mounted independently there and sticks out so that
all can see it (except for the pilot). I do not think there is any
drag penalty.
The other LEDs mentioned seem interesting as long as they match the FAA
required light output.
Anyway, I have a great deal of respect for Eric's products derived
from today's electronics - I use his Diode for my essential bus and watched
a .7 VDC drop go to .2 VDC and, thus, everything on the bus is happier
during engine start. I also use the Wig-Wag "switch" - so simple to
install and it works. I am intrigued by the power switches.
Anyway, I thought that IVs leave a trail of sparks that can be seen for
miles..........
