When I lived in Ventura, I bought about 1000 lbs. of lead from a stained
glass shop.  They usually have a lot of scraps left over.  I talked to the
owner/manager of the shop and asked her if I could buy some of her scrap for
the same price that she gets from the people who recycle her lead.  She sold
it to me for 11 cents a pound.  The purity is pretty good, the only additive
is 1/2 to 1 percent antimony.
