It is an awsome tool for doing weather. The receiver we got was Blue Tooth-capable So far it has worked very well at home, once I found a window that allows the antenna to see a good chunk of the sky. Took it for a flight in a buddy's A/C and it worked OK. The receiver needs to be installed more stably than being in the backseat wi/ wires all over the place. It was not hardwired but will be in our ES. I would highly recommend the Motion 1400. http://www.motioncomputing.com/products/tablet_pc.asp We got the extra bright screen option, the 40 GB hard drive (20 & 60 GB are available), the 1.1 gb processor and 525mb of ram. You can get more ram installed. This is one awesome machine and I use it around the house to do anything I can do on the desk PC in my office. It also comes with an optional keyboard that is built in the cover. Wireless networking and blue tooth are built in. I understand that Motion now has a newer model out on the market. The GPS input is also blue tooth and can handle inouts to 3 separate programs. The only wire in the cockpit is for the tablet from the DC-DC converter (12 to 19 volts). We have Destination Direct and WX Worx as two of these GPS-capable programs. Hop on over to 14A sometime and take a look at it. Cheers, John > 3. The tablet PC screen just doesn't cut it unless I squint and tilt the > screen to just the right angle. Sunlight just washes it out. I'll be > shopping for a new tablet VERY soon (and would love to hear > recommendations). --
