That is interesting as I have flown the retract and fixed gear legacy to Sun
n Fun and OSH multiple times without an autopilot.  It is actually quite
stable.

Subject: [LML] Stability of the Legacy FG

I read a Pirep that would indicate that the Legacy RG with the 310 HP is
not
particularly stable in either pitch or roll.  It seems that it is fast and
gets you long distances in a hurry, but will wear you out with its
constant
need for control.  I would like to see a discussion of this subject from
folks who are flying them.  I am particularly interested in the Fixed Gear
with about a 200 HP power plant.

What can I do while building the plane to minimize these stability
effects?
Where should the Weight and Balance CG be located to give the best
stability
results?

Thanks,
Bill Bradburry
