The never ending brake questions...

Every time I've had various A&P's replace my brake pads, they've had to
order "special" rivets, because "standard" rivets are too short to use with
my backing plates and pads.

My backing plates are standard, as received from Lancair with my 1992 kit.
I've always ordered the linings from Lancair.

Last week I ordered a new "relining" kit from Lancair (includes pads and
rivets).  These rivets are the same length as those stocked by my A&P, and
are TOO short.  What gives?  Do I have some special, extra thick, backing
plate?  Did Vern accidently send me the wrong rivets?  Am I the only one
having this "problem".

I've got a call in to Vern, but wanted others' thoughts on the matter
(please don't tell me to switch brakes/calipers/rotors... I'm happy with the
performance I've got).

Thank you,

Matt
