None of the recent posts re Shannon's accident focused on the actual cause of the fatality, but instead -- on the causes of the engine failure in-flight.

Actually the NTSB report does not list a cause of death. Shannon hit a light pole flipping his aircraft inverted. With a bubble canopy aircraft like the Legacy I would think traumatic head injury would be the immediate cause of death.
