Whatever you do do not neglect to have the engine inspected after a prop
strike. I bought a second hand engine and there was secondary evidence
that the a/c had landed gear up. Also the run out which was reported to be
zero was actually .019". The upshot was a cracked connecting rod upon tear
down. A rebuilt engine is cheap when you compare it with the cost and
danger of an off airport arrival.
If I had my time to come again and given the initial cost of the engine
plus the cost of the rebuild I would go for a new engine from Lancair.
