Just have a question to put to people out there. We are building a IV-P with a continental TSIO-550, but we have been asking ourselves whether a lycoming 540 would be better. It seems that it appears to be an engine with a better track record. No crankshaft problems, etc. Your views and experiences would appreciated, especially from those people that have installed one in their Lancairs. Feel free to send your opinions straight to my e-mail address rather than possibly clutter up list with something that has previosly been discussed. Regards, Robert Wallace Yarrawonga Lancair Syndicate {Robert, as you may be aware from recent postings, Brent Regan pioneered the use of the Lyc 540 on the LIV. No need to ask for private replies... these sorts of discussions are what fuels the LML and keeping them in the open only reinforces its value. If you're ever concerned about posting something to the LML that may have been discussed already, the obvious solution is to quickly search the archives... they're all available on the LML homepage along with instructions regarding how to set them up on your computer to provide yourself with a readily searchable database. Of course, it's fine to revisit any topic at any time... new viewpoints and insights always tend to emerge and are most certainly welcome here. Thanks. ] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML homepage: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html
