Lancair has a carbon spinner backplate that takes care of all the problems with
the aluminum version.  After 75 hours with the aluminum back plate, I had
developed numerous stress corrosion cracks, eventhough my spinner was supported
at the prop dome.  A few were large, but most  were not visible until I put the
back plate under a macroscope.  The carbon backplate has been trouble free for
