I want to bounce this idea off of everyone, to hear what you all feel about it. Given that the screws are a threat to hanging-up the extension of the nose gear, how about NOT putting the hinge ON THE INSIDE of the gear tunnel, at all. Instead.....make the nose gear door about one inch wider, so it overlaps the tunnel edge....attach the nose gear door to the hinge. Attach the hinge flat on the bottom of the nose skin adjacent to the tunnel opening. If a carbon fiber hinge were used it could be bonded to the door....then bonded to the bottom nose skin. To remove the door...just pull the hinge pin. No fasteners of any kind involved. Use micro to fair-in the hinge to the skin. The hydraulic attach point would have to be lengthened a trifle and maybe mounted lower on the door but the door swing could be about 90 degrees instead of like 100 degrees. The bottom of the L320 is flat as a pancake so no hinge binding threat there, however, the L235 bottom is slightly curved and a straight hinge pin there is not possible for the nose gear hinge. Sorry about that.
