I think you just might be pleasantly surprised. If you can acquire a run out to trade in it may even be better. If you were to ask people that have obtained their engines from Performance Engines if they wished they had bought a new one from Continental they would say no. The original Legacy had, I think, a turbocharged Lycoming IO-360. While most people thought that was OK, it wasn't great. That is one reason Lancair upgraded the engine. It didn't take long for folks to figure out that the IO550 would fit up front just fine, and that has pretty much become the engine of choice. Lots of water under the bridge since those days, but that's kind of how I remember it. ]
