You know there is a saying; there are bold pilots and there are old pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots. How do you know that I am not old, and therefore couldn't be a bold pilot? Your interest in my, and apparently any other would be Lancair pilot, is only predicated on your fear that we may adversely affect your pocketbook through higher insurance rates. I, on the other hand, have a personal interest in my well being that transcends the financial aspect. Quite frankly, the decisions I make regarding my flying will most certainly not factor in your concerns regarding your insurance costs. If there were more Lancairs flying, maybe the insurance rates would come down. Here you come along and try to scare a potential Legacy builder away. Did you notice that of all the respondents, you were the ONLY ONE yelling fire? The only way to insure that no one ever bends an airplane is to never build one. You remind me of all those people who, after seeing Jaws, refused to swim in the ocean anymore. But if it will make you feel better, I put stall strips on my Legacy, even though I don't have any interest in living in that part of the envelope. (Did you know that Greg Cole, the designer of the Legacy wing, put stall strips on the original design, and thinks it would be a good idea to still have them? That is where I got mine from.)
