" I am no expert on the subject either, but Jon Hadlich (used to work in the Avionics Department at Lancair and did my panel and aircraft wiring) had me use Silver Plate Copper paint around all my antennas. The official part number and name (from Lancair) is: SP-008A COATING SILVER PLATE COPPER WATER BASE I got one pint for $56. Another thought is installing static discharge wicks.
