Given (I assume) all our ASI's are calibrated in KNOTS, why do
people
insist on using MPH when describing anything related to aircraft
speed?

Pete at High Performance Aircraft Training opened the lecture Saturday by clarifying a
few numbers, and stated "Miles per hour for cars and Marketing.  Pilots use knots". Seems clear enough -  until we standardize on kmph, and by then my grandson will be too old to fly!. Robert M. Simon,  N301ES
