That is the proper procedure according to the manual. Hysol is supposed to
be impervious to any affects from avgas. So, unless you have a leak
somewhere I would recommend the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
methodology.

I opened up a hole in my wing tanks to install a fuel gage and noticed

the original builder had coated the inner walls and ribs with fuel sealer
prior to gluing the top and bottom together. This left the hysol unsealed
and exposed to fuel. Is this correct practice, or should I re-seal the
tanks
to cover the hysol?
