Greenamyer has a plenum on his #33 Legacy that he races at Reno. Not only does
it cool very well, I think Darryl would be the first to say that the cooling
drag reduction it provides is one of the reasons he goes as fast as he
does.
I
think that the points made about poor baffling vs. good baffling can be be said
about a plenum.
I agree with that, too. It just seems there is a
tradeoff:
1. Good/Great baffling is cheaper and does the job. It
probably would be easier to make this a better system than redo an entire
plenum.
2. Good/Great plenum costs a lot more and does the
job
vs.
3. A bad plenum costs a lot and doesn't do the
job.
Just looking at a cost/time vs investment return curve, a
really good baffling job gives you more bang for the buck and is easier to do
right and understand off the bat.
