I even have laid the cloth right on the foam and just ripped off the foam and used a wire brush to remove the excess foam. Of course I make sure the foam side of the part is the back side. A guy at the airport uses pink foam and just pours gasoline on the finished part and dissolves the foam! I've experimented with other "release tapes". I use packing tape for small areas, but I've tried clear Contact Paper shelf liner for larger areas. It has a small amount of flexibility so it can fit the curves a little better. I just bought a roll of the clear plastic carpet protector that comes in a roll at Home Depot. It's used to roll down hallways, etc. to protect carpet. I found out it releases really well.
