It was during the period when the Phillipines Lancair factory changed from Safe T Poxy to Jeffco. I wouldn't worry about the bown color unless it is deep (milk chocolate) brown. My aircraft was a sort of golden brown. Send me a couple of pics and I would be happy to compare them with photos I took back in the dim distant building phase of the early to mid 1990's.
