X-Original-To: "Lancair Mailing List" Mark: Don Barnes is correct, as always. I really do love my Legacy, and I fit = very comfortably in my airplane, even though I am just over 6'3", pretty = much all in the legs (not a great situation, really). My goal in = setting up the airplane was to take as much as possible out of the kink = in my legs while sitting in the pilot's seat, so as to bring my shins = down away from the bottom of the panel. It appeared to me that this can = be aided by moving the pedals forward and down, and by moving the = pilot's rearend aft and up. We cut down the floorboard insert on the = pilot's side by more than an inch, which worked very well. We also = mounted the adjustable pedal assembly to studs on the firewall, taking = it forward about an inch. I also worked with the interior foam and = construction to get my tailbone as far aft as I could without = sacrificing comfort, and as high as I could without coming too close to = the canopy. Dave Biles, who did my interior using Oregon Aero foam, = also made some matching leather trimmed inserts that fit behind the seat = back for persons of other sizes, as well as some alternative high = density foam pieces that go under the seat bottom to change the height. = My wife uses the insert behind the back on the right seat, plus an = additional foam wedge under the seat so she can get about the same view = I have. It all works out very well. As for the adjustable pedals, though, as I said, I would get them again = because I like them. I suppose, as others have mentioned, they also = would be a plus if I were going to sell my plane. =20 Carl Lewis Legacy #203 IO-550, 110 hours =20
