Taking off in a gusty crosswind, I apparently touched the nosewheel while moving sideways. It was gentle enough that I was unaware of any problem except that the tower called and said " 28 echo, it appears that your nosewheel has not retracted completely". I also had lots of wind noise from below. I put the gear down again and landed very carefully, expecting a sudden side thrust when the wheel touched. Landing was uneventful, but I taxied right back and ordered the mod. from Vern. Fortunately they had just begun doing the mod. at Redmond instead of sending them back to Australia. I recommend it.
