No, Rick did not send me an e-mail suggesting that continual pressure is required on the overcenter links when the gear is down.  Someone else did that.  Marv is right, in that the cylinder needs to bottom out fully-extended just as the gear goes overcenter.

I suggested the way to ensure that is to pressurize the system (gear down) and then adjust the rod end so that the bolt connecting it to the overcenter link drops in easily when the cylinder has full-pressure-down in it.  You'll find that it is easiest to have the bolt withdrawn when the system is pressurized.  Make sure it's up on jacks when you do this!!!

The plugs on the end of the cylinder are not anchored in, so they move a skosh when there no pressure in the cylinder.  (Acutally, the plugs have a snap ring to keep them from coming out.  The AN fitting keeps them from moving in, but there is a little clearance around the AN fitting, which allows the plug to float a little if unpressurized.)
