Mike:

I bought the box from Lancair early on in the construction state when I had no idea what battery I wanted.  I decided to mount it on the firewall and bolt all the relays and fuses to the outside, which was a pretty nice idea;  except later on, thats where I decided to  mount the air conditioning compressor.

Anyway, the box got moved to the baggage compartment altho the fuses and relays stayed on the firewall.  Since I had all the holes already drilled in the box for the relays, I decided to mount the airconditioning relays on the box.

The moral seems to be - dont be in a rush to drill holes.   Regards, Bill Hogarty

Bill,

RG batteries don't need to be installed in a box.  As long as you can mount them securely, you're fine.
