In most cases of engine failure you can still adjust
the prop pitch at least in the initial phase of the
failure, so defaulting to high RPM/low pitch is not
likely to limit your options with an engine failure
--do need to remember to do this, however.
On the other hand, when the prop governor fails then
by defintion you cannot adjust the prop so it is
preferable in this situation for the default position
to be high RPM.
