Read the comparison, but be careful. It is already wrong in that the Garmin works 12-28 volts now. The real comparison is got to be from those who fly behind these devices.
I use a 430 and find that Jepp's briefing strip plus the selected approach is all I need. To hell with the plate. Garmin adjusts everything based on your course and speed over ground.
I can hardly wait until WAAS is "activated". Screw the briefing strip.
Fly above the MEA or MSA and use approaches and you will not run into cumulo granite.
