A spreadsheet can be easily put together from the above formulae to determine how large to make the airscoop. A spreadsheet can also be used to calculate how much excess air, percentage wise, will be coming into the airscoop at various speeds and RPMs.

I have a 2" diameter airscoop on my 320. At 180 kts and 2,400 RPM, my airscoop provides 134% of the air that I need.

What happens to the excess air? The scoop just acts like a big parachute. The excess air can't be used and is just pushed out of the way.
